Effective date: May 3, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how PetPassport ("we", "our", or "the app") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our mobile application. By using PetPassport, you agree to the practices described below.
PetPassport is operated by Justin Hui ("we"). Contact: jthcreative12@gmail.com.
When you sign up or sign in, we collect:
If you sign in with Google, we receive only the basic profile information you authorize Google to share with us. We do not receive your Google password.
You may add information about your pets to the app, including:
This information is provided voluntarily by you. We treat it as your data — we do not analyze it for advertising, do not sell it, and do not share it with third parties except as described below.
If you enable notifications, we collect a device-specific push notification token so we can send you reminders and updates you've opted into (for example, vaccination due-date reminders). You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.
We collect limited technical information to keep the app running reliably, including app version, device model, operating system version, and crash reports. This information is not tied to your personal identity beyond what is necessary to debug an issue you've reported.
We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to operating the app.
Your account and pet data are stored using Google Firebase services (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, and Cloud Messaging) operated by Google LLC. Data may be processed and stored on Google's servers in the United States and other countries where Google operates. Google's handling of this data is governed by Google's own privacy policy: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
We use the following third-party services to operate the app. Each is bound by its own privacy policy:
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your personal information with third parties except:
You can view and edit your pet information at any time inside the app.
You can delete your account from inside the app (Settings → Account → Delete Account). When you delete your account, we permanently remove your account record and your pet data from our active databases. Backups containing your data are removed within 30 days. To request manual deletion, email support@yourdomain.com.
You can disable push notifications at any time in your device's iOS Settings under Notifications → PetPassport.
The app requests permission to access your camera and photo library only when you choose to add a photo to a pet profile. You can revoke these permissions at any time in iOS Settings → PetPassport.
We retain your account and pet data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete the associated data as described above. Crash and diagnostic logs are retained for up to 90 days.
PetPassport is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@yourdomain.com and we will delete it.
We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), authentication of all account access, and reliance on Google Firebase's industry-standard infrastructure. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
By using PetPassport, you understand that your information will be transferred to and stored in countries that may have different data protection laws than your country of residence, including the United States.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Effective date" above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continued use of the app after the effective date of an updated policy constitutes acceptance of the changes.
